Our Pinot Gris - Tentation

Our Pinot Gris comes from 2 plots, 9.2a Lassréngen and 11.4a XY, both located in Remerschen. The 2023 vintage also passed the winegrowing institute's test with flying colors and was awarded the Luxembourg AOP designation "Grand Premier Cru".

At our annual blind tasting before bottling, the 2023 vintage also remained unchanged: no sugar or acid correction. It was bottled as it had matured in the barrel, ie "vum Faas an d'Glaas" (from the barrel to the glass), as the cellar master proudly says.

Pinot Gris is a white wine grape variety whose ripe berries develop a reddish to red skin.

It is a rather difficult grape variety to cultivate. The thin-skinned berries require very delicate handling, as any damage to the skin causes the juice to be released too early. They also react strongly to temperature fluctuations (heat/cold).

It is known as Grauburgunder or Ruländer in Germany and Austria, as Pinot Gris it is widespread in France, Australia and Luxembourg, in Italy as Pinot grigio, and in Valais as Malvoisie.

Seafood, pasta, lamb, mature soft cheese, fresh herbs and vegetables find a harmonious taste companion in Pinot Gris.
